School Board Meetings

Regular board meetings are generally held on the third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Library at 401 FM 970, Florence. Regular meeting dates are subject to change due to circumstances such as school holidays. All meeting notices are posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act. For dates and times of other board meetings check the minutes and agendas link below.

Audience participation at a Board meeting is limited to the Public Comment portion of the meeting designated for that purpose. The Board encourages comments about the district from members of the public. Anyone who has signed up to speak in advance of the meeting in accordance with the Board procedures may do so at the appropriate time as determined by the Agenda. The Board asks that each participant's comments pertain to district business and be no longer than 5 minutes. For any member of the public who is accompanied by a translator, your time will be doubled as required by law. Remember that the Board may not discuss or act upon any issues that are not posted on the agenda. In addition, the Board has adopted policies to provide prompt and equitable resolution of complaints and concerns for employees, students or their parents, and the general public. Copies of our district policies and procedures on public comments and filing complaints are available on the district website.  The presiding officer or designee shall determine whether a person addressing the Board has attempted to solve a matter administratively through resolution channels established by policy.

The FISD Board of Trustees uses Boardbook for an online posting of agendas. Follow the link below to access agendas, public notices, and minutes.
