Message From The Superintendent Regarding 2020 Reopening

Dear Florence ISD Community,

I hope that you and your family are safe and healthy.  I am extremely thankful for the incredible people in our community who have gone above and beyond to ensure that we meet the needs of our students during the COVID-19 Pandemic.  These people include parents, teachers, food service workers, essential support staff, administrators, the Board of Trustees, city and county officials, and other community leaders.  I am grateful for your continued support and patience as we plan for the eventual reopening of our schools.   While restrictions due to COVID-19 remain, we operate under guidelines which are currently in place.  Some guidelines have remained the same while others have changed quickly.  On all school related topics, my staff and I remain engaged and informed by the latest information at hand.  While we do not yet have specific guidance from the Texas Education Agency on the reopening of schools, we are at work preparing contingency plans.  When we receive this guidance from the TEA on the reopening of our schools, we will then be able to build and communicate a plan that best suits the needs of our students and community.   Again, I thank you for your support and patience.

Sincerely,

Paul Michalewicz
