The Florence ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the employment of Dr. George Willey as the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction at the Regular December Board Meeting.  Dr. Willey brings a wealth of professional experience by having served in several capacities as a school administrator both on the campus and district level, as well as having served as a professor on the collegiate level.  Dr. Willey earned his Doctorate of Education from Texas A&M University.  He served in the United States Navy for nine years on the aircraft carrier USS Constellation.   Dr. Willey fills the position vacated by Mrs. Lila West upon her retirement from FISD after seven years of devoted service.
