Letter From the Superintendent

Letter

Dear Parents, Staff, and Community Members,

On March 16, 2020, I made the announcement that Florence ISD would suspend normal operations for two weeks following spring break, effectively closing normal campus operations through April 3rd

Since that time, I have been working with other school leaders to develop plans for the delivery of instruction and instructional support.  Early next week we will provide information to parents and students detailing how instruction and instructional materials can be accessed.  Florence ISD will remain committed to providing the best possible support to our students until normal operations resume.

Florence ISD is also committed to providing food services to our students.  Plans are being developed to make food items available and easily accessible.  We anticipate beginning a distribution program on March 24th.  Further details will be provided on the district website and through our automated messaging system as they become available.

It is abundantly clear that the seriousness of the coronavirus pandemic has created a situation that is rapidly changing.  I will continue to monitor the situation through all appropriate agencies to ensure that we make decisions in the best interest of our students, staff, and community.

We have an amazing staff and community.  I have no doubt that all will rise to the occasion during these challenging times.

Sincerely,

Paul Michalewicz

Superintendent of Schools
