Nominated by Dr. Kay Bradford, Bernice Williams was selected by Mr. Michalewicz as May 2018 Teacher of the Month.  According to Dr. Bradford, “Ms. Williams may be a first-year teacher, but she certainly does not look or act like one.  Moving from the IT business world into the education field is certainly hard to do.  Add to that she is not just a general education teacher, she is a special education teacher that has its own set of challenges that she faces head on!  She has done a fabulous job jumping into the special education program and learning how to write IEPs, accommodations, and the enormous amount of paperwork that goes along with the position.  She is self-motivated and will look at challenges as opportunities and does it all with a huge smile on her face.  She creates wonderful engaging lessons that are differentiated to the students' needs. She is a great support for students and staff alike. She volunteered to help with our Destination Imagination team, too.  I am so proud of how she has grown since her start with us.  She makes our campus better!”
