Denise Berg

Florence High School Assistant Principal

Denise Berg is a proud Central Texas native and product of Killeen ISD. She began her career as an aide and secretary before earning her bachelor’s degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and becoming a classroom teacher. She taught 6th grade Language Arts and Reading at Audie Murphy Middle School for several years.

In 2021, Mrs. Berg earned her master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Principal Certification from UT Permian Basin. She previously served as Assistant Principal and Dean of Instruction at Charles Patterson Middle School. She previously served in KISD for 25 years. 

Mrs. Berg and her husband, Kelly, have been married for 35 years and are both longtime educators. They have two adult children, Sami and Andrew. She is also mother-in-law to Kasandra and Lucas. However, her favorite title is Grandma to her 3 ½ year old granddaughter, Immy Lu.

She is excited to serve in her new role as Assistant Principal at FHS and is eager to lead, learn, and grow with the Herd—while supporting teachers, students, and the entire school community.
