D.Boone’s Country Store was recognized at the regular June Board of Trustees Meeting for being honored as a part of the TASB Business Recognition Program.

According to TASB:

“The support of local businesses and other community organizations is vitally important to public schools in Texas. These collaborative efforts yield creative, exciting opportunities for students as they advance their learning. Whatever the relationship is, businesses and other organizations that step up to help are invaluable. Their assistance and their allegiance to the public education efforts in the community speak volumes to the community, the teachers, and the students.”

During the third week of the months of January, February, and March, D.Boone’s,  in conjunction with National Wholesale Fuels participated in a program titled “Making Cents for Education”. This program allocated 2 cents per gallon of fuel sold to be given to a local school district. The proceeds of this program generated $2,073.59 for FISD. Jeff and Cristy Daniell presented the district with a check in this amount at the May board meeting.

The names of recognized businesses, including D.Boone’s, will be posted on the TASB website and in printed materials for their support of Texas public schools.  FISD again thanks Jeff and Cristy Daniell for their continued support and needed assistance to our school children.
