Place 3 on the FISD Board of Trustees is open due to the resignation of a board member.  In order to fill this vacancy, the board made the decision to appoint a replacement who will serve until the May 2020 election.  At that time, if the appointee wishes to continue serving, they may choose to be placed on the regular election ballot.  In order to be eligible to serve on the board you must be a qualified registered voter, a resident of the district for six months and a resident of the state for twelve months.  If you are interested in being considered as an appointee to serve the students and residents of Florence ISD, please submit a brief resume to the superintendent’s office no later than 4:00 p.m. on August 2, 2019.  If you have questions regarding this process or serving on the board, please call the superintendent’s office at (254)793-2850 ext. 2221.  Information booklets on board service are available at the superintendent’s office and you may also visit the Texas Association of School Boards website at www.tasb.org.
